Rotary Club of Romeoville

The Rotary Club of Romeoville lost a long time member in 2007, who exemplified the club's motto of service above self. That man was Larry Little. Larry considered every day a gift and set out to make the most of every day, he was not only an active member of the Rotary Club of Romeoville but also served as a member of the school board, PTA, chamber of commerce, was a deacon in his church, and a member of various business organizations. He spent endless hours volunteering as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army, feeding the homeless at the Morningstar mission, teaching Sunday school, helping at school functions, fundraisers, band trips, and career days. Most importantly Larry was a devoted family man who was married to his wife DeAnn for 45 years and raised 3 wonderful children who carry on Larry’s zeal for service. In memorium of Larry and his service, we have decided to award the Larry Little Scholarship to a Romeoville High School student who exemplifies Service above Self.

The Rotary Club of Romeoville will grant scholarships payable for one year only. The primary criteria for selection are demonstrated leadership qualities, school service, and community service. No less than two (2) scholarships are reserved for students involved in the RHS Interact Club.
